Recognising Excellence: Happy and Achieving Schools
Our Happy Campus（Grand Awards) and the Importance of Providing a Positive Learning Environment for Our Stakeholders
On 20 March 2023, the world celebrates the International Day of Happiness. It is a day adopted by the United Nations as an opportunity to promote happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations of all human beings. Fully supported by UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA), this message is echoed by the Chief Happiness Officer Association (CHOA), which has launched the "Happy Schools Campaign" to promote student-friendly, happy schools to all stakeholders within school communities.
Our Creative Schools Continuum, consisting of Creative Secondary School, Creative Primary School, and Creative Primary School's Kindergarten, is proud to have been recognized by CHOA as a leading school that has successfully promoted happiness and well-being among stakeholders of our institution.
Over the years, we have promoted well-balanced, holistic development of intellectual, physical, mental, emotional and social well-being among members of the school communities. Our schools intentionally sustains a positive, happy and vibrant culture that supports students' academic attainment as well as their personal growth and development.
We are very honored to have been awarded the Happy Campus Award (Grand Awards) The awards recognize our exceptional efforts in successfully achieving the vision and mission of our schools and highlight our commitment to providing a positive, vibrant and collaborative environment that prioritizes happiness, well-being, opportunities and choices for the learning and growth of our students, parents, staff and other members of our school community.
Promoting happiness and well-being in schools does not imply that learning efforts would somehow be lessened and learning effectiveness would be compromised. On the contrary, when students are immersed in a safe, positive, supportive and encouraging school environment, they would develop strong self-confidence, motivation and a strong passion for learning. Adopting this approach provides learners with cumulative experiences of encouragement and success, which is crucial to achieving sustainable school development and creating a brighter future for all.
The International Day of Happiness is celebrated annually on 20 March and was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly through resolution 66/281 on July 12, 2012. The day recognizes the importance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world, and the importance of their recognition in public policy objectives.
The United Nations recognizes that happiness is a fundamental human goal and calls for a more inclusive, equitable, and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all people. The International Day of Happiness serves as an opportunity to promote this message and to encourage people around the world to prioritize happiness and well-being in their daily lives.
The day is celebrated by individuals, schools, businesses, and governments around the world through various activities and initiatives that promote happiness and well-being. These initiatives include promoting mental and physical health, reducing inequality, and creating more inclusive and sustainable communities.
The International Day of Happiness is a reminder of the importance of promoting happiness and well-being in our lives and in the lives of those around us. By working together, we can create a more joyful and fulfilling world for all.
